How to Control

There is a main window to show a 3D model.

  • Please drag the model with the left mouse button to rotate it.
  • Use the Object Shape pull-down menu to change the 3D model. There are 5 models. They are Cube, Cone, Cylinder, Sphere, and Teapot.
  • Use the Select Texture pull-down menu to change the texturing function. There are 5 functions. They are Normal as a normal color function, Noise as a Perlin noise function, Turbulence to simulate turbulence, Marble to show the marble material, and Wood for wood grain.
  • Use the Storage Method pull-down menu to change the storage methodology of the 3D cache cube. Solid is the previos solid texturing method, Texture fills a 3D texture image first then renders the object as 3D texture-mapping (THIS METHOD COSTS A LOT OF TIME), Cache just uses a normal cache cube, and Sparse uses a sparse cache cube. Moreover, LOD uses a LOD sparse cache cube which contains multiple cache cubes with different levels.
  • Use the Cache Cube Size pull-down menu to change the size of the 3D cache cube. Notice if your machine could not get the setting size of the 3D cache cbue, the system will set a proper size for you.
  • Push the Rotate button could make the 3D model rotate automatically.
  • Push the Coordinate Control button will open the Texture Coordinates Control Window.
  • Push the Reset button will make all settings return to the initial states.
