Adaptive Solid Texturing version 1.1 has been released in Apr. 25, 2002.

Adaptive Solid Texturing is a new procedural solid texturing rendering technology for Internet Graphics. Procedural solid texturing is a well-known computer graphics technology of showing a 3D object realistically, although it is time consuming and needs hardware accelerators' supports. Therefore, the useful technology could maybe not serve most people in the cyber world, since most of the machines available over the Internet are low-cost ones with no high-end graphics board. It utilizes the cache technology to solve this problem for the Internet graphics world. All the codes are written in Java^TM Programming Language, and the 3D graphics rendering is done by the kernel of jGL - 3D Graphics Library for Java, so the program can be run on Java^TM2 platform and the previous version of Java^TM. The compilers on each platform are Java2 SDK, Standard Edition, v1.3.1_03 (or Java SDK 1.1.8) on SUN Solaris 7 / 8 and Microsoft Windows 98/NT/2K/ME/XP.
